The reform programme of government is meant to engender a new society that would be the pride of every Nigerian wherever they live.

The Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Micheal Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, stated this at an interactive session with journalists in Abuja, as part of activities put in place towards the meeting of the Body of Attorneys-General scheduled for Uyo, the Akwa-Ibom State Capital.

According to him, the theme of the conference has been carefully selected to highlight the importance of the reforms and the rule of law policy of government.

The conference which holds from Thursday, 21st May to Saturday, 23rd May 2009 at the Le Meridian Ibom Hotel and Golf Resorts, Uyo, has as theme “Reforms for Good Governance”, supported by three sub-themes:
•    Constitutional Amendments as it relates to Electoral and Land Reforms;
•    Situation Report on Prison Conditions and other Correctional Facilities, and
•    Human Right Issues.

State Attorneys-General and Commissioners for Justice, are expected at the three-day meeting that would commence by 9.00am daily. The Host and Special Guest of Honour is Chief Godswill Akpabio, the Governor of Akwa-Ibom State.
