The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, has appealed to state and local governments to work closely with the Federal Government to realize the administration’s rule of law project, as the work at the centre required the collaboration of all tiers of government.
He made the call in Abuja yesterday (25/06/2009) when he received members of the Forum of Local Government Chairmen from the North East Senatorial District (Zone A) of Benue State, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The Minister stated that the Seven-point agenda and the Vision 20 20-20 of government were worthwhile projects that required the support and contributory effort of all tiers of government to create a better Nigeria that would give hope to her citizens.
On the desire and hope that Governor Gabriel Suswan should go for a second term, the Minister said nobody could stop a young man on the right track, and implored the people of Benue State to assist the governor in doing what is right.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Forum, Chief M. B. Dowgo, said the visit was to express the Senatorial Zone’s appreciation of the Minister’s commitment to the realization of the rule of law policy of government, as well as to brief him on happenings back home.
He solicited the support of the Minister in the desire of the Forum to see Governor Suswan go for a second term in order to consolidate on his achievements in the state.
Dowgo however added that the project to see that Suswan gets a second term was entirely the brainchild of the Forum.
The North East Senatorial District is the home district of the Minister.
